Malta Individual Investor Program (MIIP)

Maltese citizens are citizens of the European Union and as such can live, work and study in any country within the European Union, European Economic Area and Switzerland.

You and your family will obtain European Citizenship without having to renounce your current nationality. To qualify for Citizenship, the main applicant will be required to provide proof of having been a resident of Malta for a period of 12 months preceding the issuing of a certificate of naturalization.

INVESTMENT OPTIONS

3 AREAS OF INVESTMENTS

The applicant must invest in 3 areas:

  • Government Application fee: €30,000.
  • Property rental €12K/€10K per year OR Property purchase €270,000/€320,000.
  • Investment in Government Bonds (€150,000) x 5yrs, refundable thereafter.
  • National Development Contribution €650,000.
  • In addition, the applicant needs to declare that he/she has an annual income of not less than €100,000 per year arising outside Malta or has in his possession a capital of not less than €500,000.

FINANCING OPTIONS

  • IRC offers the MRVP financing option through a financial institution. Through this option, instead of investing the €150,000 in Government Bonds, the Applicant will only be required to pay a non-refundable fee of €100,000 to the financial institution.

PROCESS

  1. Fast processing: approximately 4 months for approval of residency application including stringent due diligence checks.
  2. Applicant and dependents wishing to gain citizenship must reside in Malta for a period of 1 year.
  3. Following the minimum residency period, the citizenship is granted to the applicant and qualifying dependents after approximately 6 months.

As Malta is part of the EU Schengen Agreement, holding residency grants you the ability to travel to all EU Schengen countries visa free. Once residency requirements for 7 consecutive years have been fulfilled, you will be allowed to apply for citizenship.

If the Maltese Passport & Citizenship is granted to you, you will hold one of the strongest EU Passports, with visa free access to 173 countries, and the ability to live, work and open up businesses in any EU country.
